The night came….
No call from Nolly…. No call from anybody…. Phone was as blank as branded….
We set out again….
This time, the plan was to stake with the money we already made the previous night…

This, I’ve only seen in Hollywood movies…..
I was arrested and remanded in custody.
I felt the game had being played out rightly well…
The next day, I called Nolly….
Nolly: I’ve been trying to reach you….
Me: It’s okay…
Nolly: Why aren’t you calling with your number? What’s wrong?
Me: I’ve been remanded in police custody. The police busted us at the casino the last night…. Tayo and Seun were able to escape…. Although they were shot at….
There was huge silence…. It lasted for about 5 minutes…..
Nolly: What police station? I’ll come there now….
After giving her the details of my exact location….
I pondered on whether to call my parents….
I was very scared…
The cell, was bad and disgusting…
Very dark place…. But there was this light that kept passing through my mind…..
In the evening…. Nolly arrived….
From the cell, I could hear her loud voice…..
She asked to see me…. And in a moment, a policeman came to unlock my cell…***When we talk about freedom…. It’s far more than just being able to do anything… Being human, we can’t withstand to be locked down….. that’s an animalistic attitude… but all the same, prison was meant for humans who tried to behave like animals.
Why do we chain dogs? Because they’re unpredictable…. We lock the lion and the wild animals because we believe they cannot think. And so they better be restricted…. Prison is the worst thing to happen to man***
I got out….
Nolly was with a man, he was black, tall….. and averagely built….
As she saw me….

My eye was getting red…. There was the look of guilt…. After you’re been warned and you still went to commit the act..

The policeman approached me with my belongings…. My phone and wallet….
I was released…..

There was car… so we drove to a nearby hotel….
It was dark already….
We got in the hotel…..
The next morning…..
We set off as early as possible, for our journey back to Pretoria…
Inside the car….

Nolly: Aren’t you even scared?
Me: I am… but I’ve to see him isn’t ….
When we got to Pretoria later that afternoon….
The car headed straight to Nolly’s parents house….

My heart started beating very fast…..
And even faster as I approached the entrance….
I sat in the sitting room….with Nolly…
In 2 minutes… her dad was around….
