my intention on that file was to davite the company’s money that need to be paid into company account to my own account
BACK TO SCENE
i was so supprise to see loveth smiling and walking away after what i told her
LATER THAT EVENING
i was in the room trying to catch some sleep after receiving my sister’s call when loveth walk in
she told me she was sorry for not replying to what i told her earlier
i told her i was not angry but just supprise that she just smile and walk away
she smile again
“i’m very sorry about that,
you see chucks
now she stop smiling and look more seriouse
“what happene between you and funmi could have happen to any
other guy,
what makes us human is the
mistakes we constantly make
but what makes us relevant an
constant is the ability to make
amend when we realise our
mistakes
i could not believe what i just heard
i’m beginnig to see the other side of loveth
she sound more mature than ever
i did nothing but to just stire at her while she continue
“on the issue of that file you
brought home
hummm, let me ask you this first
have you for once involve
yourself in a deal like this befor?
the question got me thiking on how to answer her
truely i have not done anything like that befor but is there crime in trying

i answered
she smile
“then why do you want to go into

backfire?

i dont know when i said so
“chucks please dont quote what
i’m about to say wrong

just say it anyhow please
i said
“i used my native power”
she pause to see my reaction
i think
“in my mother’s family, they have
a stream which they believe in
and she(stream) helps them
whenever they
call on her(stream)
i called on her(stream) the way
my mum thought me,

she said then she look straight into my eyes
i search for words to say but i could not
am i hearing her well?
“can you please tell me how you

i asked in a very low tone
she stood from where she was sitting and said
“sleep my dear, tomorrow we will
talk”
she said then walk quickly out of my room
different thought fill my mind
i started thinking of many thing
till i slept off
IN THE MORNING
i prepared myself for the traveling of the day to ibadan
i approached my aunty’s room
and knocked at the door
she told me to come in and i did
she was still on her bed when i walk in
i greeted her and she responded
i told her i’m about to go (she knew about it)
she told me she almost forgot
“have you inform your
girlfriend?”
she asked jokely
what is she talking about or as loveth discuse anything with her?
“my girlfriend?”
i asked her like i don’t know what she was saying
“please don’t give me that look”
she said while opening the bed drawer
“abum nwa du nima ji mali ife
neme ni?(i’m i a baby that don’t
know what is going on?”
she said as she was giving me some cash
“manage this and call me once
you get there”
she concluded
i don’t need to argue with her on the issue of my affair with loveth if i don’t want to ridicule myself
its very obvious that she know of what we have been doing
“aunty, wow i didn’t expect
this, thank you so much ”
i thank her
from aunty’s room i went to loveth room but she was not there
i met her at the door when i was living her room
we exchange greeting and also told about my traveling
i counted #5000 out of the money(of which i don’t know how much exactly she give me)aunty gave me
and stretched it out to loveth to take
“please manage this”
i said
she smile like someone that say ‘when do you start this’
“chucks you will need it more
than i do, please keep it”
she said while squeezing my fist with the money
she asked when am i coming back
i told her i can’t really say untill i there(ibadan) first and see what is on ground
she looked straight into my eyes for awhile befor she planted a soft take care kiss on my lips
“safe journey dear”
she said
i turned to go back into my room and pick my car key when i heard her voice
“i’m sure you have not taking
this morning,
or have you?”
she ask
i told her not to get worry that i will find something to eat when i get there(ibadan)
i was thinking i will be able to hold the hunger till i get to ibadan but the case was not like
i park at the front of one cafetaria at show boy(very closs to ORE juction) to eat something
i ate to my satisfaction befor i continue with my journey
in less than 3hrs i entered challeng round about(ibadan)
i was approaching D’Rovans hotel at ring road when Tope’s call came in, i ignored it
he called again and i also ignored it
i don’t like picking calls when driving
i saw my sister’s husband coming out of his compound
he opened the gate for me to come in when he saw me behind the wheel
we exchange greeting befor he leed me in where i saw my sister and her friends dicsussing
i greeted them all
my sister was happy for seeing me again
she introduce me to her friends of which i know two among them
as her old friends
her new friends greeted me maturely but the once i knew just welcome me like a small boy i use to be
